They’re alive! The zombies are taking over the band, and they’ve started with your trombone section! Special percussion and wind effects, haunting melodies, and a relentless beat provide a dramatic and effective change of pace for your next concert. Frighteningly fun, it’s sure to be a hit with students and audiences alike.

Fun and energetic, your beginning band students will love this. The infectious groove, handclapping, and driving drum beat propel this spirited piece all the way to the end. Using only the first six notes introduced in most band methods, this piece is an excellent choice for a school assembly, parent meeting, pep rally, or concert closer.

This dramatic piece offers young musicians an exciting concert work that depicts a musical journey into the deep mysteries of the universe. With careful dissonances and pulsating rhythms, this powerful concert work is sure to fire up the imaginations of young musicians as it captures the attention of your audience.

The American folk tune Nettleton is the basis for this moving and musical setting. The beautiful melody is also associated with the hymn Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing and is given a wonderfully expressive treatment that will enhance any concert or contest performance

Twas the week before Christmas and Leon, a disgruntled elf who has just started working in Santa’s workshop, is writing journal entries about each difficult day. The band replies with a humorously arranged Christmas carol that provides a snapshot of all the unfortunate events taking place, such as wooden soldiers who break rank and fight to defective reindeer harnesses that accidentally come with cowbells. But in the end, Leon realizes that his work is important and that being a Christmas elf has its rewards. Perfect to feature an administrator or teacher as narrator. Simply delightful!

arr: Richard L. Saucedo

Based on Saucedo’s popular setting for standard concert band, this holiday favorite has been adapted for the flex-band format. This sparkling version features a seasonal energy throughout as well as an ingenious quote of Jingle Bells in a minor key that will sound great with bands of any sizes or instrumentation.

Heralded by a fanfare-like figure for trumpets in the first strain, here is an appealing German-style march solidly scored for young players. Low brass take the lead on the second strain, followed by a contrasting lyrical section featuring the woodwinds. The full ensemble brings us to a rousing finish in this excellent march.

An Oriental atmosphere is created by the floating melodies of this exotic piece. In the opening, a long, sensitive melodic line emerges, supported by Western-style harmonies. Just as a dainty flower slowly opens, this expressive music blossoms into a work of delicate beauty.
