Brett McCarty

Technology Coordinator/ Founder

Brett McCarty is the Director of Music at Granger Jr High School in National City, where he teaches band, guitar, and music technology.  He earned his degree in Music Education from California State University Long Beach and his teaching credential from San Diego State University.  Brett has taught all over San Diego County from Valley Center, Poway, Solana Beach and National City.   A saxophone player, he spends most of his time jumping from one instrument to another working with his ensembles.

For Brett DaCapoSD is the culmination of 2 major passions:  Teaching and Playing.  Getting into the classroom and the demands of playing each instrument to a high level was an eye-opening experience.  Method classes are no substitute for ongoing real world ensemble experience.  Hopefully DaCapoSD can be that for the music educators of San Diego.
